Video surveillance
We use video surveillance to prevent theft and damage, to offer optimal service and to support operational procedures. Video surveillance may also be used in specific parking facilities in the form of a simplified payment solution known as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) which uses cameras to read registration plates. Data processed using video surveillance include images which can be attributed to a physical person and a registration number. We retain data from video surveillance for up to two months unless we need to keep the data for longer to protect our legal interests.
We have based this collection of personal data on a balance of interests. In this balance of interests, we have made an overall assessment which includes the nature of the data, the volume of data processed and the way the data are processed.
Specific procedure for accessing camera images
Camera images represent personal data for which we are the recipient and which we protect with extra care. Material from video surveillance is covered by a professional secrecy obligation and is protected from unauthorised access or unauthorised use. We may disclose the material to law enforcement authorities or other authorities if required to do so by law or to protect our interests. If you wish to access camera images, we ask that you complete a form to request access to camera images. We ask a number of questions about the information shown on the images and the appearance of the individual data subject. This is because there may be several people shown in the images and this enables us to anonymise those people.
